BBC reporter shares “major” Leeds worry he got told at Thorp Arch this week before Cardiff

Leeds hit with “major” injury worry at Thorp Arch this week before Cardiff

Leeds United will play Cardiff City this weekend in Wales, and Daniel Farke will be concerned about an injury Leeds United sustained before to the match.

With just two wins from their first five league games, the Whites’ season has started unevenly. The manager’s pressure has increased following their loss to Burnley last weekend, to the point that speculation over his future has grown.

49ers are thrilled about Leeds’ “genius” Farke replacement, whom they are keeping an eye on.

If Farke gets fired, Leeds has their sights set on a promising young manager.

Though the season is still early, Farke is already under scrutiny and knows he must perform given his inability to get promotion the previous term. Farke is “under pressure” at Elland Road, according to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider. While the pressure is not immediate, it has cast question on his long-term future.

As such, Leeds is considering possible successors, and O’Rourke reiterates that they are keeping an eye on West Brom manager Carlos Corberan. The club executives reportedly consider the Spaniard to be “highly regarded,” and it has now been revealed that he has a mere £2 million release clause to leave the Hawthorns.

Still, given how well the young coach is doing with the Baggies, other Championship teams feel the same way about him. Although he hasn’t yet been promoted, the 41-year-old has raised the bar and turned them into a reliable contender since joining them in October 2022.

Before Saturday’s match against struggling Cardiff, which is a must-win, Farke needs to put on a few strong performances to quell the rumours, but he recently suffered a serious injury.

Leeds hit with “major” injury worry before Cardiff

Winger Manor Solomon of Leeds United is a “major” doubt for their matchup with the Bluebirds, according to Adam Pope of the BBC. The 25-year-old, who has played in just two games for the Whites so far this season, came from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan last month.

Manor Solomon is the main injury doubt with a back issue ahead of Saturday’s Championship match at Cardiff City, according to information Pope relayed from Farke’s press conference at Thorp Arch. However, he appears doubtful to make it three against Cardiff. Patrick Bamford was anticipating becoming involved.

After leaving Shakhtar Donetsk, the Israel international signed a free move with Spurs last summer. However, his first season was a bust, as he appeared in just six games across all competitions without scoring any goals.

After Spurs made additions to their roster in the summer, Ange Postecoglou allowed Solomon to go on loan. The winger has started Leeds’ previous two games and provided an assist in the 2-0 victory against Hull City prior to the international break, but it seems unlikely that he will play in the match against Cardiff.
