Chris Sutton predicts who’ll win between Tottenham and Brentford

This Saturday at N17, at 3 p.m., Tottenham Hotspur will face Brentford in their Premier League return.

Spurs’ incredible comeback in the midweek League Cup match against Coventry City has given them more confidence.

As late as the 87th minute, Tottenham was down 1-0 and about to lose, but goals from Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson kept Spurs in the game.

Now, Ange Postecoglou’s team will try to turn around their unsteady Premier League season.

In the meantime, after a strong season opening performance, Brentford will fancy their chances against Spurs.

They have only lost two games this season, against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Speaking on BBC Sport, Sutton said that Spurs’ matchup with Brentford, a team with a lot of experience, will be difficult.

But the commentator also pointed out that the Bees will miss Yoane Wissa a lot because of his absence.

In the end, Sutton favoured Tottenham to overcome Thomas Frank’s team and triumph 2-1.

“The organisation we saw from Brentford against Manchester City last week is no longer surprising, and this is a tricky game for Spurs,” Sutton said. Or how terrible they were at their first opportunity.

But Yoane Wissa is out for the Bees, which is a huge loss, following his injury at Etihad Stadium.

“Right now, I’m worried about Spurs because they haven’t been as efficient or inventive with their final ball when they go into the final third of the game as they were under Ange in the past.

“They are at home, and I am supporting them to cross the line, but they will need to get better at that here.”

    Tottenham v Brentford team news

Wilson Odobert, a summer addition, has a hamstring problem that Postecoglou disclosed to the Tottenham media team on Friday. The injury “doesn’t look good.”

Spurs will “definitely be out for the next period” but they have to wait for his injuries to heal before they can learn more.

Richarlison remains sidelined in the interim, while Timo Werner and Yves Bissouma have practiced and should be fit for Brentford’s match.

According to Sam Tabuteau, Thomas Frank stated that the Bees have no new injury concerns before their trip to Spurs.

On Monday, Paris Maghoma will begin training in full sessions, while Rico Henry will resume part-time training on the same day.

Frank said that he’s “a little more in doubt” about Mathias Jensen’s return date.
