Hearts & Hibs rivals provide update on player who collapsed and was hospitalised during Premiership clash
During yesterday’s Scottish Premiership match at Dens Park between Aberdeen and Dundee, player Mo Sylla of Dundee passed out at halftime.
Following his collapse in the changing rooms during halftime of yesterday’s Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen, midfielder Mo Sylla of Dundee FC has issued a statement to his supporters regarding his condition.
At Dens Park, the visitors prevailed 2-1 thanks to goals from Simon Murray from the penalty spot, Topi Keskinen, and Kevin Nisbet. The Dons continued their winning start to the season with 12 wins in all competitions as the hosts piled on the pressure in the second half but were unable to equalise.
Following the game, the club said that Sylla, a former midfielder for Hartlepool United and Oldham Athletic, had left the field and was replaced by Josh Mulligan. Although no information on the incident’s cause has been made public, the 30-year-old was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and it has been reported that he is currently in a stable condition.
The club would like to provide a brief update on Mo Sylla’s condition after he became ill yesterday in the Dundee dressing room at halftime, according to a statement sent by the team this morning. The club’s paramedics and medical staff took speedy care of Mo.
“He was moved to the accident and emergency department of Ninewells Hospital, where he was by now talking to people and responding to them. Following an initial evaluation, he was admitted to Ninewells Hospital for additional research and is still there as of right now. The club will give another update when it is appropriate.
Having played in lesser English football categories and in his home country of France throughout his playing career, Sylla joined Dundee last summer. The Parisian has represented Stade Lavallois and Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien in France, as well as Oldham Athletic, Aldershot Town, and Hartlepool United in England.
This season, he has made 12 appearances in all competitive games, which has made him a valuable member of Tony Docherty’s squad. Just 25 appearances in all competitions were made by him for the Dark Blues last season, who are presently seventh in the Scottish Premiership standings after winning just one of their first six games.
