Nottingham Forest player won’t answer telephone to national manager – Not smartest decision

The news from Sweden that Anthony Elanga was left out of the national team for the forthcoming international break was carried by us earlier today.

For both club and nation, the 22-year-old hasn’t played well or consistently, and the truth is that his level has lost him his spot. There have been moments when it seemed if Elanga thought he ought to play a larger role for Sweden than he has, but he hasn’t been able to provide any solid evidence for this position.

During the news conference, Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson clarified that the Nottingham Forest midfielder is currently experiencing the brutal side of football. Because of his recent success with the New York Red Bulls, Emil Forsberg was chosen over Elanga.

Tomasson then told Aftonbladet that ever since the player learnt he wouldn’t be participating, he hasn’t been able to contact Elanga.

As cited by Aftonbladet, he stated: “I have attempted to contact him multiple times, but I have not yet succeeded. Though I’m confident we will speak, I sent a message.

Tomasson then said, “Of course, players are disappointed when they are not selected,” in response to the journalist’s suggestion that Elanga would be upset. Emil Forsberg and Alexander Isak are back, and when two players return,

A player must leave. As a person, you don’t want to make judgements like that, but as a coach, that’s your job, and that’s what coaching is all about. There will always be a disappointed party, but that’s just a part of football.

The Sweden manager responded, “He can also be very busy, heh?” when asked if he was shocked the Nottingham Forest star didn’t pick up the phone or respond. I’m not sure.

Anthony Elanga’s move was not the best one.
