‘It’s a bit weird’: Luke McCowan explains what’s ‘different’ about upcoming Hearts vs Celtic fixture

‘It’s a bit weird’… Luke McCowan explains what’s ‘different’ about upcoming Hearts vs Celtic fixture

Celtic hopes to maintain their undefeated start to the Scottish Premiership season when domestic play resumes this weekend.

Before the international break began, Celtic defeated Kilmarnock in a hard-fought away victory to maintain their lead in the Scottish Premiership standings.

As Aberdeen closes the gap on them, Brendan Rodgers’ team is aware that Jimmy Thelin’s club will be searching for an opportunity to try and take advantage of whatever points Celtic may give up until their match on December 4.

The midfielder Luke McCowan has revealed what is so peculiar about this weekend’s matchup between Neil Critchley’s Hearts and Celtic.

Celtic’s kick-off time at Tynecastle vs Hearts is ‘a bit weird’

McCowan told Sky Sports, “I can’t wait! It’s a bit weird playing on a Saturday night, but it’s just like a midweek game and you treat it as the quarter-to-eight kick-off or 8pm kick-off.

“It will definitely be a different one and a loud one at Tynecastle, but nothing really changes.”

“Everyone will always tell you it’s one game at a time, which of course it is, but it’s just a thing you’ve got to kind of think about,” McCowan added in reference to Celtic’s League Cup final matchup with Rangers.

Naturally, I’m disappointed since I won’t even be able to make it to the cup final; instead, I’ll simply be watching and supporting the boys, but I’m sure there will be more, and I’ll be engaged in them.

Celtic’s hectic fixture list before facing Aberdeen at Pittodrie

Neither team can afford to make a mistake this weekend, as the Dons are tied for first place in the league but 14 goals behind Celtic.

However, Rodgers still needs to deal with challenging games against Club Brugge in the Champions League on the 27th and Ross County on the 30th, while Celtic still has a match against Aberdeen on the 4th of December.

The Celtic team will be put to the test during the busiest time of the football calendar, which is winter, as Rodgers continues to fight on three fronts in the upcoming months.
