‘One action’: Regis Le Bris has big request for ‘fantastic’ Sunderland fans ahead of Stoke City, it could change the game

Regis Le Bris calls for ‘action’ from ‘fantastic’ Sunderland fans ahead of Stoke City, it could change the game

Prior to this weekend’s match between Sunderland and Stoke City, Regis Le Bris has made a significant request of the Black Cats supporters.

Sunderland’s form has drastically declined after an incredible start to the season, and they are currently falling in the Championship standings.

The next task for Regis Le Bris’ team is to play Stoke City at home at the Stadium of Light, where both teams are eager to resume their winning ways.

It has been predicted that the match between “struggling” Sunderland and Stoke will be close, but Le Bris might know how his team can win.

Regis Le Bris plays up importance of Stadium of Light crowd

Speaking to the media (through the Sunderland YouTube channel) in advance of the match this weekend, Le Bris has described how the team can take advantage of the tremendous support they receive at home and how they can give back to those supporters.

“The relationship we have with our fans… they deserve to feel good, and we need them to feel good again,” Le Bris stated. It can occasionally resemble a circle and be either positive or malevolent. With just one successful outcome, we may establish a new positive dynamic.

“The notion that we must earn our fans’ admiration has been discussed extensively. Here in England, the connectivity is excellent, particularly at Sunderland. A single action can generate a lot of energy in the stadium and encourage the squad to be more inventive.

Considering what we know about Stoke City before the match against Sunderland, it will be essential for the Black Cats to have the support of their supporters in order to defeat a tough, well-prepared squad and achieve the outcome they require.

The Stadium of Light needs to be a fortress for Sunderland

To be honest, there isn’t a stadium in the Football League quite like the Stadium of Light, especially when it’s crammed with 40,000+ spectators.

It is a Premier League stadium with a fan base deserving of the highest division as well; Sunderland has by far the biggest average attendance in the Championship this year. The club now just needs to return as quickly as possible to its proper position.

    Rank Stadium Capacity Average
    1 Stadium of Light – Sunderland 48,707 40,567
    2 Elland Road – Leeds United 37,890 36,118
    3 Pride Park – Derby County 33,597 28,867
    4 Bramall Lane – Sheffield United 32,702 27,767
5 Coventry Building Society Arena – Coventry City 32,609 27,075

However, the club cannot accomplish that without that support, and Le Bris raises an excellent point regarding the positive energy loop that runs from the players to the spectators and back again.

Sunderland’s current bad performance is caused by a variety of factors, but it is mostly mentality rather than skill, and if the players and supporters can band together starting on Saturday, it should be easily fixed.

of the season’ as January move beckons

A player who was connected to Sunderland in 2023 has had an extremely busy 2024. He appears to be on the move before 2025.

Over the past two seasons, Sunderland’s transfer strategy has subtly made them the envy of many in the Championship.
