Hearts bid blasted, Hibs make offer plus Dundee United, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, St Mirren & St Johnstone – January transfer bulletin

The update for your January 17 transfer window is available. No Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Dundee, St. Mirren, and St. Johnstone are among the teams that The Old Firm covers.

Islam Chesnokov Hearts bid criticised & Andrew McKinlay update

Islam Chesnokov of FC Tobol has been criticized for Hearts’ attempt to get him at a discount.

As we previously reported, the Jambos are in negotiations to sign the Kazakhstani international, and Sanzhar Seitkazinov, FC Tobol’s sporting director, has now confirmed an offer.

However, Seitkazinov has trashed Hearts’ transfer offer. Hearts wants Chesnokov almost for free, he declared. We don’t think this is acceptable.

Since the club made an investment in his growth, it is improper to give him away for free. If at all feasible, we urged Hearts to return with another offer.

“This is the club’s stance: we would have taken him to Scotland ourselves if we had actually received the reported £500,000 offer!”

Andrew McKinlay, the CEO of the Hearts, has spoken out over the January transfer window. Before the deadline, he wants to add one or two more new players, he has stated to his followers.

Work for the summer has also been confirmed by McKinlay, and the next January window is currently in progress.

Hibs transfer bid for Matias Siltanen

According to reports, Hibs has made a £735k transfer offer for Matias Siltanen, a KuPS wonderkid. Despite only being 17, Siltanen is thought to be one of the most talented young athletes in the world.

However, Djurgårdens IF, a Swedish team, is reportedly a rival of the Hibees.

    Dundee’s Jordan McGhee to Motherwell?

According to the BBC, Dundee defender Jordan McGhee has signed a pre-contract deal with Premiership rivals Motherwell.

The 28-year-old’s contract at Dens Park expires in the summer but it has been stated that the Steelmen could try and bring McGhee to Fir Park this month.

In more Motherwell transfer news, the Daily Record claim the club are in talks to sign Carlisle United striker Luke Armstrong on loan.

The 28-year-old has played 24 games for Carlisle this season, scoring three goals and notching two assists.

Dundee United close to 2 signings

Dundee United is nearing two new signings, according to Jim Goodwin, and he hopes one of them can be signed before Monday night’s Scottish Cup matchup.

As for Monday, it’s 50/50 right now, but we’re working hard to close these transactions,” Goodwin stated.

“I believe we have a close relationship with one, if not two. Before Monday’s game, there is still time to try to get at least one of those over the finish line.

    Kilmarnock confirm loan recall

Jack Burroughs, who spent the first part of the season at Kilmarnock, has returned to Coventry City.

“We can confirm that Jack Burroughs has been recalled by Coventry City,” the Ayrshire club said in a statement.

During his loan period, the defender made 14 appearances for us, including a start in Copenhagen less than 48 hours after signing. I wish you luck in the future, Jack.

    St Johnstone transfer latest

In other news, 19-year-old Sheffield United defender Sam Curtis is reportedly training with St Johnstone ahead of a possible loan move. Curtis was recalled by the Blades this month after spending the first half of the season with Peterborough United. The Courier reports that St Johnstone is set to offer former Udinese and CSKA Moscow star Roman Eremenko a short-term contract. The 37-year-old Eremenko is the brother of Alexei Eremenko, who had two stints with Kilmarnock between 2010 and 2015.

St Mirren waiting on 3 loan transfers

Stephen Robinson, the manager of St. Mirren, believes the team may recruit three more loan players before the transfer window closes. “We’re actually waiting on three deals, all of which are loan deals,” he stated.

“At higher levels, the parent club always has the upper hand. Holding back some players to ensure we obtain what we need is what we’re doing as well. That is what everyone is doing right now.

“We are aware of what we must do and where we wish to make improvements. We think we would be better off if we could close at least two of the three loan agreements.

If any of these occur, it’s probably going to be next week, but once more, we’re being
