Everton, West Ham United eyeing winter move for Yves Bissouma
Everton and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 29-year-old Malian international Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window.
Football Insider claims that West Ham United and Everton are interested in Yves Bissouma. The two Premier League teams are eager to add a holding midfielder to their first teams during the winter transfer window. Thus, they have made the 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur outcast their aim.
Before the deal fell through, Tottenham sought to let go of the African midfield player during the summer transfer window. Everton and West Ham United will try to sign Bissouma in the upcoming weeks, even if he will stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until January.
Yves Bissouma and his situation
After leaving Brighton & Hove Albion to join Tottenham Hotspur in July 2022 for a reported £25 million, Yves Bissouma has not been as reliable as he would have wanted. Despite his moments of genius throughout his time with the North London club, the 29-year-old midfielder has no future there because of his attitude, which has irritated Thomas Frank.
The Malian international has contributed one goal to Tottenham’s 100 appearances to far. But Bissouma has no future at the North London club, and the scenario has drawn interest from a number of prestigious clubs. This past summer, the player was reportedly linked to a number of influential people; Everton and West Ham United are two of the potential suitors hoping to sign him as the winter transfer window approaches.
Move across the Premier League beckons?
Yves Bissouma was a target for Everton during the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through. Given that Idrissa Gueye is nearing the end of his career, it makes sense that interest is still high. Thus, Everton needs a holding midfielder, and Bissouma is starting to look like a good fit.
In the closing days of the summer transfer season, West Ham United also had their eye on the Tottenham outcast. Given that Guido Rodriguez’s future at the London Stadium is unknown, the ongoing interest makes sense. Bissouma is therefore a viable possibility for West Ham.
It would be intriguing to see if Everton or West Ham can get the 29-year-old Malian midfielder in the upcoming months as he hopes to leave Tottenham during the winter transfer window.
