Hearts locked in talks with goal scoring international winger Islam Chesnokov as they hope for fourth January signing
Hearts are negotiating for what they believe will be a signing in January FOURTH.

The Jambos were reportedly in talks with Austrian defender Michael Steinwender’s club, IFK Varnamo, in hopes of signing him earlier today.

According to Jamestown Analytics, the tall Austrian defender can help Hearts. He has experience playing in the top flight in both Sweden and his native country.

If finalised, he would be the second centre half that the Tynecastle team has signed after they acquired Jamie McCart from Rotherham and Kye Rowles is leaving for DC United.

Following the addition of Belgian striker Elton Kabangu on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise, McCart was their second acquisition of the summer.

Kabangu was brought on as a substitute at Pittodrie, while the former started against Aberdeen yesterday after making his debut off the bench against Dundee United.

Hearts are now in talks with a winger

Not the Old Firm knows that Hearts are currently in negotiations with Kazakhstani winger Islam Chesnokov, who is their second aim for a signing.

With 11 caps and two goals to his name, the 25-year-old presently plays for Tobol Kostanay in Ukraine.

He scored 10 goals and provided three assists in their most recent domestic campaign, and he played for them in the Conference League qualifiers this season.

Chesnokov’s contract expires in October of this year, and Not the Old Firm has learnt that the player and club are actively negotiating a move during current window.

    Who is Islam Chesnokov?

25-year-old Chesnokov is a winger from Kazakhstan who plays for Tobol Kastanay in Ukraine.

He made his debut at Altai Semey in his native country before joining Belshina Bobruisk of Belarus and finally his present team.

He has played for his country on a regular basis and has European experience in Champions League and Conference League qualifying.

The wide player can play as a central striker or on the left, but he typically plays on the right side.

Chesnokov was once associated with Kilmarnock, but it’s Hearts who are now attempting to sign him.
