How to watch Kilmarnock vs Hearts: kick-off time, TV channel and team news ahead of Derek McInnes’ Ayrshire return

All the information you require on the SPFL Premiership matchup this weekend

As the international break comes to an end, Hearts’ next opponent is Killie away, a famously challenging, banana-skin match.

For the first time since departing Rugby Park for Tynecastle in the summer, Derek McInnes will play his old team in what is statistically going to be the Jambos’ most difficult matchup thus far this season. After seven games, his Hearts team leads the Scottish Premiership standings by two points over Celtic.

Following his promotion from the Championship in his debut season, the 54-year-old had three excellent seasons at Rugby Park, therefore Kilmarnock supporters would have been concerned about McInnes’ departure from Ayrshire. With new manager Stuart Kettlewell in charge, Killie has made an incredible start to the season and is now in third place. Their sole league loss came against Celtic following a contentious penalty in the final minute.

Before Kilmarnock vs. Hearts, here’s all you need to know about the match between two of the league’s best teams:

When and where is Kilmarnock vs Hearts?

On Saturday, October 18, the game will be played at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park. Due to television rights, kickoff is set at 17:45 (BST), which is a little later than usual.

Will Kilmarnock vs Hearts be broadcast live on TV?

The game will indeed be shown live on Premier Sports 2, with coverage beginning at 1715.

As an alternative, you can follow the action online at the Evening News! On top of post-match response, our man in the know, Barry Anderson, will be at Rugby Park to provide you with his report and ratings bang at the end of the game.

What is the team news ahead of Kilmarnock vs Hearts?

Several Hearts players made an impression over the international break and will be looking to replicate this performance at the club level. Against Ethiopia in their World Cup qualifying match, Pierre Landry Kabore scored a hat-trick for the Burkina Faso national team. Being the first Jambo to ever pick up the match ball while playing for his country in a competitive match, the winger created history. During the half, James Wilson scored three goals for the Scotland Under-21 team against Gibraltar.

For several injured Jambos, the break has given them a little more time to return to play. Ageu, a record signing, will resume training prior to Saturday’s match after missing over six weeks due to a hamstring injury. Additionally, McInnes will have an out and out right back for the Killie game for the first time since Christian Borchgrevink is expected to return after missing the opening day success over Aberdeen. Ryan Fulton, Finlay Pollock, Frankie Kent, and Calem Nieuwenhof won’t be playing until later this month.
