“I don’t care” – Martin Dubravka issues message when quizzed on Newcastle future

“I don’t care” – Martin Dubravka issues  message when quizzed on Newcastle future

When asked about his future at Newcastle, Martin Dubravka says he “doesn’t care what happens” and makes reference to a possible summer transfer.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper’s contract expires in the summer, and if James Trafford moves to Tyneside to join current No. 1 Nick Pope, he might move up to third in Newcastle United’s hierarchy.

While on international duty with Slovakia ahead of Euro 2024, Dubravka discussed a possible move away and had a rather blasé tone on his future. This week, he has been linked to a move to Celtic and has also reportedly attracted attention from Saudi Arabia and other clubs in Europe.

“It’s hard for me to comment on that, because I get information about who we are signing from the newspaper,” he remarked in an interview with SportNet.

To be honest, I don’t really care anymore what occurs. I worked hard for the club and stood up for my position. I will no longer have any say in the matter if they choose to invite someone else. I’m attempting to focus on the national team at the moment, so I’m putting this aside. I ignore everything else in my mind.

He said, “I would not like to comment on that, because I am mentally set for the national team,” in response to a question regarding the Celtic connections. I am conscious of a variety of noises, though.

“Agents call me and my teammates do ask me about it.” That does have some validity. That also held some truth from the previous year. You see, though, I remained with Newcastle United.

“I don’t deal with anything if there isn’t an actual offer on the table. Even when I was still in Sparta, that is how I saw it. Everything is only at the noise stage right now.
