Liverpool player posts wordless message as Richard Hughes ‘rejects’ second transfer bid

Liverpool player posts wordless message as Richard Hughes ‘rejects’ second transfer bid

Bobby Clark, a midfielder for Liverpool, is rumoured to be interested in Leeds United.

A fresh offer for Bobby Clark is allegedly rejected by Liverpool.

Clark paid £1.5 million to join Liverpool three years ago, moving from Newcastle United, and he has come a long way on Merseyside. His 11 senior outings from the previous season included his Premier League debut, a cameo in the Reds’ Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley, and his first senior goal in a 6-1 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.

The 19-year-old, who sustained a back injury at the close of the previous season, is still expected to play in the preseason. But in the midfield hierarchy, he now behind players like Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Curtis Jones. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, a Spanish international, is a target for incoming head coach Arne Slot.

Red Bull Salzburg is attempting to force Clark to go to Austria as a result, and former Reds assistant manager Pep Lijnders is eager for a reunion. The Athletic reports that Salzburg’s most recent bid of £8.2 million was rejected by Liverpool. His value to the Reds is closer to £12 million.

Championship teams like Norwich City, Leeds United, and Coventry City are interested in signing Clark on a loan; however, if an offer is made and accepted, Clark may leave the team permanently. Although Clark has resumed training following his injury, he was not on the pitch for Liverpool’s preseason matches on Sunday at Anfield against Las Palmas and Sevilla.

Clark shared a monochromatic, wordless snapshot of himself on X, the former Twitter, on Sunday night. According to certain followers, the adolescent is hinting at his impending departure with this action.

Fabio Carvalho is expected to sign a contract with Brentford for a maximum of £27.5 million, marking Liverpool’s first major summer sale. After the Reds’ friendly doubleheader, Slot told reporters, “From what I’ve been told, there is an agreement in place, but I haven’t spoken with our club.”

“I don’t know precisely what his situation is because I was totally focused on this game today, but that was, of course, the reason he wasn’t selected today.
