Max Wober not desperate to stay at Leeds United ahead of August 30 deadline
In an interview with The Square Ball podcast on Monday, August 12, Smyth urged Farke to start the 26-year-old against Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, August 14. Although he was not used as a substitute in Leeds’ opening game of the new Championship campaign, Smyth hinted that he would be staying last season. He has just had a season in the Bundesliga, starting in the top flight in Germany.
He’s now a reserve player in England’s second division, playing for a team a year ago he didn’t want to be at. That he is yearning to stay, in my opinion, is quite doubtful. All we can do is wait and see if there is another offer made between now and September.
“Offer him a starting position and advise that he should start if you think there’s a chance he could stay against Middlesbrough. I’m not sure how he gets in, though. Firpo contributes more assists in the last third of the game, and you can’t take Pascal [Struijk] out.
Max Wober to depart Leeds United before August 30?
Although it seems that Farke wants Wober to stick around for this season, everyone knows that after leaving the Elland Road crowd last summer, he needs to regain their trust.
After a successful season in the Bundesliga, where he made 27 appearances across all competitions, the centre-back, who can also fill in at left-back, has returned to West Yorkshire.
With Joe Rodon and Struijk forming the back two and Firpo providing more offensive threat at left-back, it is unlikely that he will see as much playing time for the Whites this season.

Bobby Clark’s loan to Leeds United has reportedly been discussed, according to HITC.
According to an online source, Leeds would have to compete with Norwich City and Sheffield United for the 19-year-old midfield player, as reported on August 11.
It is understood, though, that RB Salzburg and the Liverpool jewel are nearing a contract this summer, with talks about both loan and permanent alternatives between the two parties.
Leeds United to sign Bobby Clark on loan?
Although RB Salzburg of Austria seems to be winning the battle to sign Clark, he would be a very exciting loan signing for the Whites.
Since being promoted from the club’s development teams, the 19-year-old has only made 14 appearances in the first squad for the Reds; therefore, it is possible that he is looking for a new challenge.
