‘Most outstanding player’ – West Ham loanee is bright spark, lack of purchase option may be regretted

Most outstanding player’ – West Ham loanee is bright spark, lack of purchase option may be regretted

Nayef Aguerd of West Ham United is currently Real Sociedad’s “most outstanding player,” thus it’s possible that they are regretting not including a buy option in the deal.

The Moroccan defender has made an immediate impression after joining Estadio Deportivo on loan from West Ham at the end of the summer, as the team reports today.

Aguerd, who has been one of Real Sociedad’s few bright spots in recent games, is reportedly the team’s “most outstanding player” as of the start of the season.

The season hasn’t started as they had hoped following the summer, but he has been making a “astonishing” impression.

He’s quickly slotted in since his arrival from West Ham, helping to cover the departure of Robin Le Normand. His ‘great debut’ against Real Madrid showed he could be a ‘elite defender’ and he’s been starring ever since. That’s even been the case when Real Sociedad have not been at their best and it seems everyone is delighted with the signing. Estadio are even questioning the possibility of a permanent deal, which could be negotiated next summer. On that front, they’ll be regretting their decision to insist that a purchase clause was not included in the deal with West Ham.

The newspaper incorrectly believes that Aguerd’s contract with West Ham expires next summer so the defender can be signed on a free when his deal actually expires in June 2027 so that notion needs to be ruled out before it gains traction.

Either way, it seems the West Ham man has been impressing and not negotiating a chance to get him permanently may end up being regretted
