Astonishing revelation emerges about Michail Antonio that raises big West Ham question

In any piece about Michail Antonio at West Ham for the past few years, the phrase “great servant, but” is usually included.

For the greater part of a decade, Michail Antonio has been West Ham’s guy in all situations and at all positions.

The Hammers have signed 53 strikers since David Sullivan joined the team in 2010, which is astounding.

Those fifty-three signings have not all been failures. However, many have suffered hardships or overindulged in injuries.

Additionally, those who have clicked haven’t stayed around for long enough.

After Sullivan’s arrival in east London, it has been 14 years, and West Ham appears to be caught in an all too familiar cycle.

Nine acquisitions, £155 million spent, and the entrance of another star striker

It’s like groundhog day for West Ham fans.

And many of them are no afraid to vent their dissatisfaction about it on social media.

    Astonishing revelation emerges about Antonio

Over the course of over ten years, he has been an incredible servant and has scored some very significant goals for this team.

Antonio, who turns 35 this season, should also be mentioned because he does not choose to pick himself up front or extend his own deal.

Antonio used to be such a sharp tool that he would give opposing defenders nightmares.

Antonio has the opportunity to maintain his starting position this season thanks to Julen Lopetegui, despite the addition of Fullkrug.

However, there is much room for improvement in his performances, attitude, and level of effort.

Before shoving the Jamaican player off at halftime, Lopetegui was spotted berating Antonio for his careless and lethargic play against Fulham.

He consequently lost his spot for the matches against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Antonio’s impressive performance at Anfield earned him a spot back in the starting lineup for the Brentford match. To the dismay of numerous Hammers supporters who preferred to see Jarrod Bowen in the starting lineup.

Antonio’s workrate was considerably better, but he still didn’t provide much and isn’t good enough to be a legitimate starter in the Premier League.

He did, however, contribute significantly to West Ham’s equaliser in the 1-1 tie.

Antonio’s shot was stopped, and Tomas Soucek was the one who poked it in.

For many Hammers supporters, the striker represents just another instance of a player that West Ham has held onto for far too long.

    Right now and

West Ham’s 100 goal contribution man raises big question

Antonio has reportedly become the first player in West Ham history to have a direct hand in 100 Premier League goals.

After spending a steal of £7.5 million to join the Hammers from Nottingham Forest, Antonio has 67 goals and 33 assists to his name.

Thus, the team’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League has shattered yet another record.

Michail Antonio is the first ever player to be directly involved in 100 Premier League goals for West Ham,

    ◉ 67 goals
    ◉ 33 assists

It raises the question of whether Antonio is truly a West Ham legend at this point.

Many don’t appear willing to bestow that title on the former non-league star.

Antonio is the first to acknowledge that he is not the most attractive or graceful person.

Because of this, when supporters believe he isn’t doing enough to make up for it in other ways, they attack his performances.

Antonio is without a doubt a cult hero for the Hammers.

    That is unquestionable.

Cult hero of certified Hammers legend?

Nonetheless, opinions remain divided on the subject of legend status.

It only takes a quick glance at social media during and after West Ham games to get the proof required on that score.

Antonio had just eight goals for West Ham in all competitions the previous season, just seven the year before, and zero goals thus far this year. His first assist of the campaign came on Saturday.

As they say, everything worthwhile has an end. It is also undeniable that as he has aged, his efficiency has decreased.

It appears highly likely that Antonio’s tenure with the Hammers will end this season.

Maybe as time goes on after his passing, Antonio will be regarded as a legend and gain more respect.
