Why Coleen Rooney lives in £20m mansion miles away from Wayne as she signs up to I’m A Celeb
Following her husband’s hiring by the Championship team, Coleen Rooney, the wife of Plymouth Argyle manager Wayne Rooney, chose to stay in Cheshire with their four sons rather than go to Devon.
Rooney led Derby County, DC United, and Birmingham City before taking on his present role in Devon. He began his management career in 2020. Even though he has become accustomed to his new position over the past five months, he has chosen to remain in his opulent £20 million Cheshire house with his wife Coleen and his four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass.
“We thought long and hard about it (moving to Devon), but with the kids it didn’t work,” Coleen said in an interview with The Mirror, describing her decision to stay in Cheshire instead of moving there. Since Kai, a ten-year-old, is just beginning his GCSE preparation, football is going great, and the other boys are all enrolled in school, it didn’t seem right to pick them up, take them away, and start over somewhere new.
It’s doable. Life goes on. Similar circumstances affect other families and couples, so they just need to go on.” Coleen also talked about their quality time on Plymouth Live, stating: “It’s fantastic that we get to see him a few times a week. This is a plus since, despite its remoteness, America is easier to get to than Washington, DC. He travelled there.
“He calls every morning as we leave the house, and there is a lot of FaceTime. “Wait till we get in the car,” is my response. “I don’t have time.”
While Coleen and the kids are still 260 miles away in their opulent Cheshire home, Wayne currently dwells in the coastal town of Salacombe. With six bedrooms, an indoor pool, an elaborate wine cellar, an Astroturf pitch outside, a home theatre, and stables, this mansion has it all. Developed in the midst of the pandemic lockdowns, the property is situated on 40 acres of pastoral terrain.
While the official line-up is still unknown, speculation suggests Rooney might be joined by celebrities like Ally McCoist, Jeremy Clarkson, Tommy Fury, and Tulisa Contostavlos in Australia. Coleen is also causing waves with rumours that she will be joining the cast of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here this winter. An insider reportedly told The Sun: “I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board.”
