I have a very different feeling about this’: Why Portsmouth boss is confident new jinx won’t strike at Plymouth
The fact that the two worst Championship performances this season happened on midweek away trips is not lost on John Mousinho.
Tonight at 8 p.m., the Blues, still troubled by their poor performances against Stoke and Cardiff, will travel to Plymouth, another struggling team.
Their head coach, however, says he has a “very, very different feeling” about this most recent evening match, despite admitting to the earlier suffering.
The Portents were undoubtedly strong as they travelled to Stoke following a goalless draw with Sheffield United at home.Similarly, the trip to Cardiff was preceded by the team’s first victory of the season, which came from QPR.
They ended up with really concerning performances and, of course, crushing losses that left them at the bottom of the standings.

Pompey is now scheduled for a match at Home Park after Hull scored a point and Mousinho claimed that his team played the finest 45 minutes of the season.
“What happened in the previous two midweek away games definitely isn’t lost on us, but at the same time, we can’t dwell on it too much,” Pompey’s head coach told The News.

When Pompey played Hull, they were able to press the home team and defeat their wish to play from the back because to their 4-4-2 formation.
At Plymouth, the Blues are open to changing their formation once more. It was the third system change in three games.
After leaving the pitch, Mousinho said, “It was a nice compliment to be really, really disappointed in only taking a point away at Hull.”
‘At some point we want to end up being settled in terms of the way we set up, we have done it sometimes through personnel, sometimes through necessity in terms of what we think we need to get out of games.
‘At Hull we were 4-4-2 out of possession, we tried to have a slightly different shape in possession. In the second half, we hardly had a goal kick, the ball was hardly in our half, and, when we did win the ball back, we were high up and tried quickly to counter.
‘That was the game really, that’s the way we pressed. We are flexible in the way we do that and we do change depending on what the opposition do.’
