“These are the challenges that we want. These are the challenges that we worked so hard for last year to get and hopefully we can just go into the game and show a good game and enjoy the experience,” Kent said following Saturday’s 2-1 victory against St Johnstone in Perth.

“I believe it is [the game we’re most anticipating].” Since I don’t watch that kind of football, I don’t know a lot about them personally, but I think they’ll make a strong squad. It will be a good challenge because they play in Germany’s top league, but as I mentioned earlier, these are the experiences we desire.

The Jambos enter the game fresh off last weekend’s first away victory of the Scottish Premiership campaign. Although the victory at McDiarmid Park wasn’t a particularly memorable performance, Kent is happy that they managed to grind out the three points and thinks it will give them a significant boost in confidence.

“To be honest, I think the boys were a little anxious today,” the former centre defender for Peterborough United stated. It’s a significant game, of course, and we’re glad we managed to finish it and earn three points, which is much needed.

“We simply need to keep developing and improving while attempting to keep up a level that will allow us to get results from the games we’re playing, so hopefully it can go on.”

We’re in a position where we’re not winning as many games as we would have liked to this season, but I believe we’ll take a victory no matter what. Our start wasn’t good enough, so the boys had to put in extra effort, particularly in the second half.

We demonstrated a strong will and a fair deal of character to rally and win the goal, and we performed admirably in the end. In my opinion, Craigie just needed to handle a few set pieces and little else towards the finish.

Despite his satisfaction with the character they demonstrated in Perth, Kent did not think that their lack of character has been a problem for them this season. The 28-year-old also talked about the effectiveness of Neil Cricthley, the new head coach, since he took over.

“I don’t think it’s a character thing in a lot of ways,” he stated. I simply believe that things haven’t been going well and that we haven’t performed well enough.

“I feel like we have character, so I don’t think you can question who we are as a team, as players, and as individuals. It doesn’t seem like we’ve been getting any favours. Everyone is there and they’re all saying, “I don’t know what’s going on,” even though I haven’t seen their penalty or the goal today. In my opinion, we handled it effectively today, and we will continue to do so game by game.

Just getting the little things right and letting us know where we were going wrong, in my opinion. I believe that a new perspective has likely aided that. In essence, I doubt that we were far from it or
