He had a stop-start start, but Blair Spittal is loving the adaption at Hearts of playing every few days.
The playmaker moved to Gorgie during the summer transfer window after having an outstanding season at Motherwell, another Premiership team, the previous season. Having previously played for Queen’s Park, Partick Thistle, Dundee United, Ross County, and Fir Park, he brings a wealth of Scottish football experience to Tynecastle.
Spittal has three goals and three assists, and Neil Critchley has started him in every game since taking over as head coach, even though he began the season coming in and out of the starting lineup under former head coach Steven Naismith. Although Spittal is eager for the team’s performance to improve given Hearts’ 11th place finish in the Premiership, he is content with his life in maroon despite having to adjust to balancing domestic and European activities.
