Following Stoke City’s decision to fire manager Narcis Pelach, departing goalkeeping coach Paul Clements has paid homage to the dressing room he will be leaving behind when he takes his leave. After just 19 games in charge, Spanish coach Pelach was relieved of his responsibilities on Friday night after winning just three of them.

Ryan Shawcross is in charge of a team that will manage things until the club names Pelach’s replacement. This team also includes Darren Behcet, Clements’ goalkeeping coach colleague. However, Clements, along with analyst Harrison Glew, who followed Pelach from Norwich, departed following the news this week.

Clements was at Norwich City with David Wagner and Palach as well, but he departs with Stoke sporting director Jon Walters, who wants a fresh start and a third manager for the Potters’ season before the year is even up.

Clements wrote on social media, “I know that I gave it my all every day, let’s see what the future holds, I am happy to have worked with some incredible humans in Viktor, Jack, Frankie, and the rest of the dressing room.” Behcet will continue to work with Stoke’s senior goalkeeping department, which consists of veteran cover actor Frankie Fielding, first-choice Viktor Johansson, and deputy Jack Bonham.
