New manager Mark Robins is trying to put his stamp on the Stoke City squad
Junior Tchamadeu thinks that the hard work done by his coaching staff and Mark Robins’ high standards will help him and his Stoke City teammates.
Tchamadeu, who turned 21 in December, has been arguing that he should be the team’s first choice right-back this season and recently won player of the month, but he knows he still has a lot of work to do to reach his full potential.
Even while he maintains that he is not really interested in anything other than Saturday’s trip to West Bromwich Albion, he has been enjoying working with Robins and his coaches Paul Nevin and James Rowberry.
“I’ve received excellent treatment from the manager,” he remarked. I want to hear that he’s stating that I have a lot of work to do because I know that I can always do better. Having personnel that are willing to help me and learning new things every day are the two most important things for me, and he and his staff are willing to help me get better. That will benefit me and the team, I believe.
It’s what our club and team need. Our expectations must be high. We must be demanding of one another as well as of the players and workers in the facility. Without it, you are unable to advance. As a group, we must have a strict management who will not tolerate any foolishness.
“He has assisted us in maintaining our focus on the upcoming game and session, encouraged us to work hard for one another, and helped us achieve our goals of getting results in the next game.”
He went on to say: “Robins has a great deal of experience and is well-versed in this division.” That is going to be beneficial. Having that experience is significant because our group is young.
Over the New Year, Tchamadeu’s performance has improved. Then-caretaker manager Ryan Shawcross changed his full-back position initially to encourage him to attack later and be more aggressive rather than be expected to fill in as an extra center-back.
Robins has adopted the same strategy, and Tchamadeu believes that’s likely playing to his advantages, which is what convinced Stoke to purchase him from Colchester in the summer of 2023.
He remarked, “To be honest, I’ve really enjoyed it.” “I think we’re developing as a team and our performances have been strong overall, which is crucial for the season. Right now, we are in a strong position with increasing self-assurance; all we need to do is remain together and continue to compete.
