The Sun claims that Rooney would soon be employed as a commentator on Match of the Day, the BBC’s top football highlights program, where he might earn up to £200,000 per year.

“Punditry is one of Wayne’s many future options,” a source told The Sun. He performed with Gary and company at the Euros last summer, and the crowd really enjoyed him. In addition to his love of the game and proficiency in forensics, he is also very likeable.

“A few other broadcasters, including Match of the Day, are interested in featuring him on their shows. Wayne is taking some time to determine exactly what he wants to do next, but the conversations between him and the BBC are still in their early stages and appear promising.
