Tottenham backed to complete signing of PSG star this month

Tottenham backed to agree late Milan Skriniar deal – ‘keep an eye on this’

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham may be able to address their defensive problems by acquiring PSG defender Milan Skriniar during the January transfer window.

Senior writer Pete O’Rourke advised fans to “keep an eye on” the center-back’s status as he is expected to depart the French powerhouse this month during an interview with the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

The 29-year-old has reportedly piqued the curiosity of Aston Villa and Galatasaray, who were informed of his possible availability.

Spurs’ interest coincides with a defensive injury issue that has forced Radu Dragusin and Archie Gray to step in at the back.

Although it is anticipated that Micky van de Ven and Crisitan Romero will both recover from injuries in January, the transfer team has searched for other possibilities this month to add depth.

Due to Skriniar’s availability, Tottenham is now on high alert and is expected to look into a late-midseason move for the seasoned Slovakian international.

Tottenham plot late January swoop to sign PSG star Milan Skriniar

Prior to moving to PSG, where he has struggled to make an impression, Skriniar made 248 appearances for Inter Milan and amassed 77 appearances for his country.

The center-back is eager to leave the Parc des Princes in pursuit of more playing time after making just five appearances and four starts this season.

Unexpectedly, Tottenham’s January efforts have so far been concentrated on acquiring attacking players; nevertheless, they are anticipated to make a center-back deal before the window closes.

Although he is on their radar and has gone to the top of their list of objectives, the PSG player is still one of several choices available before the window closes.

The center-back will turn 30 next month, though, and any deal would only provide a temporary solution to a possibly long-term issue in North London.
