Norwich City could be without three key players for Stoke City clash

Team news as Stoke City prepare for a Championship trip to Norwich

In anticipation of this weekend’s match against Stoke at Carrow Road, Norwich City fans are waiting for Johannes Hoff Thorup to provide information on a crucial trio.

Kenny McLean, the captain, has been absent due to illness, Emil Marondes has been sidelined due to hip problems, and Marcelino Nunez, who recently recovered from a hamstring ailment, was hit in the ankle last week. After being suspended for six games for spitting, top scorer Borja Sainz is playing in his third game back, although he hasn’t scored since late November.

The return of familiar characters, according to midfielder Anis Ben Slimane, will help Norwich get back into form so they can aim to catch up to the top six. After winning against Norwich to open the month, they have subsequently lost to Preston and Derby at home and drawn away at Hull.

Slimane said to the Pink Un: “I believe that everyone, not just me, misses them. In my opinion, Kenny and Nacho (Nunez) are two of the team’s most crucial players. So they’re basically two very essential players, whether I like it or not.

Marcelino Nunez has been nursing an ankle injury.

“The team will be glad to get them back, but the players who have been playing in their place have also been performing incredibly well. Everyone wants that as it’s beneficial for both the games and the competition on the training field.”

In four of their last eight encounters with Stoke, Norwich has scored three goals or more, and they have not lost.
