Plymouth star man a doubt for Canaries trip

Plymouth Argyle ace Morgan Whittaker a doubt for Norwich City clash

Morgan Whittaker, Plymouth Argyle’s outstanding player, might not play against Norwich City this evening.

Due to a toe injury, which has plagued their best scorer, the winger had to be replaced halfway through the second half of Friday night’s 2-2 draw with Watford.

Wayne Rooney, the manager of Plymouth, thinks it’s “crazy” that his team has to play on Friday after the international break, but he expects the extra day of recuperation would help them.

Rooney told the Plymouth Herald, “I think there have to be exceptions where you take the players’ health into consideration, but I understand for TV and certain things like that.” They are required to travel after landing from lengthy flights, and they subsequently attempt to play a game at a very high level. In my opinion, neither the players nor the coaches benefit greatly from your preparation.

“Moose (Mustapha Bundu) and Freddie (Issaka) had just returned, so I put them on the bench. I believe that we must look after the players.

Norwich, who have drawn seven of their 16 league games this season, is six spots ahead of Argyle in 19th place in the Championship, but only two points behind them. Borja Sainz, the Championship’s top scorer with 11 goals, is one of City’s biggest threats.

“They are a good team, good energy,” Rooney stated. It will be a really tough game, as I say every week. We had a successful away performance against Derby the last time, so perhaps we can build on that.

The team is flying to and from Norwich for the game since the trip to Norfolk is the third-longest Argyle has made this season, behind only Sunderland and Middlesbrough. After the game, we had to be in the air by 11 p.m., but we couldn’t have done that, so we’re going to stay overnight and then take a flight back on Wednesday morning,” Rooney stated.

Naturally, flying is beneficial to us, but whether we fly or coach, we must properly prepare and make sure we try our hardest to get a result.
