Done deal’ – Birmingham City complete signing of star midfielder wanted by Stoke and Middlesbrough

After beating teams like Stoke City and Middlesbrough to sign the talented Rangers midfielder Kieran Dowell on loan, Birmingham City has increased their chances of promotion. The former Everton academy graduate could make his Blues debut against Huddersfield. The player will remain with the team until the end of the season, pending league, FA, and international clearance.

Birmingham are flying high at the top of the table with 57 points from 25 matches and are already five points clear of third place Wrexham with two games in hand.

“I am excited to get going, it has happened really fast, but I spoke to Craig Gardner and Chris Davies and they are both so ambitious,” Dowell stated in an interview with Blues TV, expressing his delight at joining a club in such excellent form. Currently, the guys are doing fantastically, and the atmosphere here is incredibly upbeat.
After going through the Everton academy and having a string of successful Championship loan stints with teams including Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Derby County and Wigan Athletic, Dowell was considered a player to watch before settling down permanently at Norwich City.

In addition, he stated: “It is a good chance for me to come and play football, come and play for a team who like to dominate the ball. I have always thrived playing in teams that like to control the ball, and speaking to the Manager I was completely sold with the way he wants to play.” He has two promotions from the Championship in his career and was a member of the Rangers team that won the Scottish League Cup the previous season.

Dowell, who was a member of Rangers’ team that played Manchester United in the Europa League last week, might make his Blues debut on Tuesday night against Huddersfield.

However, he will probably play his first game at St Andrews against Rotherham United this weekend in front of his new fans.
