Official | Bochum’s Lukas Daschner joins St. Gallen on loan with purchase option

The departure of Lukas Daschner from the Bundesliga has been formally announced. After his current club, VfL Bochum, arranged a six-month loan to Swiss team St. Gallen, the Duisburg native makes his first international move. Although the Swiss company acknowledges that a buy option is included in the agreement, a precise amount is still missing.

Under former head coach Peter Zeidler, Daschner, whose current market value is estimated at €1.2 million, played three-quarters of his minutes for Bochum this season. The former Duisburg and St. Pauli man was of little or no service to Dieter Hecking. Georgios Masouras, who was just signed by the Revierklub, is unlikely to play again this season.

Roger Stilz, head of sport at St. Gallen, said in a club statement, “We’ve had our eye on Lukas for quite a while and now we’ve managed to get him to join our club. Lukas has a great deal of experience from the top two leagues in Germany.” He will contribute significantly to our team and our game with his technique, footballing acumen, and inventiveness. We are thrilled that we were successful in persuading him to support our idea.
