Ibrahim Cissoko update from hospital bed after Plymouth Argyle setback

Ibrahim Cissoko update from hospital bed after Plymouth Argyle setback

After undergoing surgery to address a groin/hip flexor problem, Ibrahim Cissoko has provided an update from his hospital bed.

Since making a loan move from FC Toulouse, the winger has been a vital member of Wayne Rooney’s team thus far this season.

Before playing halftime in the first half of the team’s 5-0 loss to Cardiff City, he made ten appearances in the Championship.

Since then, the Dutchman has not played and is now anticipated to miss up to two months of action due to this procedure.

Cissoko has helped Plymouth so far this league season with three goals and one assist.

Cissoko has sent a greeting to Plymouth fans following a successful groin/hip flexor surgery.

The 21-year-old expressed gratitude to everyone for their kind words and stated that he expects to rejoin the club shortly.

“The surgery went well,” Cissoko posted on his personal Instagram page.

“I want to give God the glory for that.

    “I’ll be right back.”

“I appreciate all of the messages I got.”

Since joining Plymouth in July, Cissoko has solidified his position as a vital member of Rooney’s team as they fight to avoid relegation to League One.

In a 1-1 draw with Hull City in August, the winger scored his first goal for the team.

In addition, he came off the bench to help them secure a crucial three points on September 27 by scoring a brace in their 3-1 victory over Luton Town.

In addition to losing players like Joe Edwards, Lewis Gibson, Brendan Galloway, Conor Hazard, and Muhammad Tijani, his absence will be a major setback for the Pilgrims.

Darko Gyabi, however, will be available for selection once more after missing Wednesday night’s match against his parent club, Leeds United.

The injury to Cissoko will hurt Plymouth’s chances of avoiding relegation to League One.

Together with Morgan Whittaker, the forward leads the team in goals scored with three apiece.

Since losing 3-0 to Leeds last weekend, the Pilgrims have now dropped three of their past four league games and are currently ranked 22nd in the standings.

At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Rooney’s team will play a crucial match against Portsmouth, who are currently in 24th place, at Home Park. If they win, Plymouth might move out of the bottom three if other results go their way.

Cissoko injury is a huge blow for Plymouth

So far, Cissoko has been a valuable member of the team and has fit in well with Rooney’s ideas.

However, losing him for as long as two months is a significant amount of game time that could be vital to their chances of surviving.

With Cissoko out, Whittaker will be counted on to score goals consistently, so there is a lot of pressure on him to produce.

Given that so many other players are also sidelined due to injury, this will be a significant test for Rooney as well.
