‘I just wonder’: David Pleat suggests it may be time for Tottenham to sell their ‘world class’ player

David Pleat says it might be time for Tottenham to sell their ‘world class’ player

In recent years, Tottenham has had to make some difficult choices regarding some genuinely exceptional players.Harry Kane wanted to go and win trophies somewhere else, so Tottenham sold him to Bayern Munich last year. Before Kane left, Spurs also let players like Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld go, and Hugo Lloris left shortly after.

Heung-Min Son, a player from the Mauricio Pochettino era, is still with Spurs despite the team’s recent roster revamp.

At 32, Son has been at Tottenham for over ten years, and it’s possible that his abilities are decreasing a little.

In fact, Son’s contract status is still uncertain, and Jamie O’Hara no longer believes Son is a top-tier talent.

In an interview with The Joy of Football, David Pleat talked about Son’s predicament and asked if the Spurs great thought it was time to cash in on Son.

David Pleat suggests Heung-Min Son should be sold

Pleat expressed his opinion about what ought to happen with Son.

According to the analyst, Spurs may be better off selling Son now in order to maximise their possible return.

“To know when it’s appropriate to leave.” With a few months left in the season, it would be interesting to watch what Tottenham does with Son. Pleat stated, “There is a lot of talk about him getting an extra year.”

However, I’m curious if now would be the greatest moment to take advantage of that if they can reach an agreement with another team. Just my viewpoint.

    Heung-Min Son stats this season

The statistics indicate that Son is still a valuable player for Tottenham, despite Pleat’s suggestion that it might be time for the South Korean to be sold.

Son was referred to as “world class” not too long ago.

Son hasn’t produced as many goals as he did when he was the Golden Boot winner a few years ago, though. He continues to post really strong numbers.

    Games 8
    Goals 3
    Assists 3

Son has struggled with fitness this season, but he is still making a huge contribution to this Tottenham club.

Even though Son is 32 years old and won’t become any better, he is still an important member of this team.

Son is a fantastic character behind the scenes as well, and that should not be overlooked either.

You don’t want to upset the apple cart by selling your club captain, especially when there may not be a ready-made substitute in the squad. Son has been praised by Archie Grey for his leadership skills.

Tottenham shouldn’t be aggressively marketing their captain, but Saudi Arabian teams are interested in Son, so maybe a high offer should be taken into concern.
