West Ham vs Chelsea: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injuries
When Chelsea plays West Ham United this Saturday, they will still be without a recognised right-back.
Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez, Malo Gusto, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returned to training for Chelsea this week.
Axel Disasi replaced Gusto at right back against Bournemouth after the player sustained a thigh injury in the draw with Crystal Palace before the international break.
Although his comeback to the side has not yet happened, it had been hoped that he would be available for the trip to East London with Recece James.
However, on Friday, Enzo Maresca made it official that James and Gusto are both unavailable. When they are not available, Disasi is expected to play right back.
James, on the other hand, has missed time this season because of a hamstring injury and a ban from the previous one. His persistent hamstring condition is taking longer to heal than initially anticipated, even though it is not believed to be a recent setback.
Romeo Lavia is still unavailable for the journey across the capital today.
Jadon Sancho, who is back in London on loan from Manchester United, came off the bench and set up Christopher Nkunku’s late winner against Bournemouth on Saturday.
After replacing Pedro Neto in the second half of the match at the Vitality Stadium, Sancho created a lot of havoc down the left side and will be hoping that his performance will earn him a spot in the east London starting lineup.
