‘We love him’ – Nottingham Forest boss provides update on Ola Aina’s contract situation
Nuno Espírito Santo has given an update on Ola Aina’s contract talks with Nottingham Forest ahead of the team’s Premier League matchup with Ipswich Town at the City Ground on Saturday.
In order to keep the Super Eagle right-back from leaving for nothing, Forest is eager to sign him before his contract expires in the summer.
Since coming from Torino, Aina has been a devoted member of the two-time European champions due to his reliable performances and availability for selection on matchdays.
It should come as no surprise that the team is prepared to keep him on after this season, with other teams eager to sign him should he decide not to stay at City Ground.
Espírito has acknowledged his happiness with the Nigerian international’s performances and is happy that he is staying with the team.
The Portuguese manager responded to reporters’ questions on Aina’s current situation and a possible new deal by saying, “I think things are going well.” As a coach, I express my viewpoint. We adore Ola’s performance, both as a player and as a person.
“There are other people in the club that take care of those discussions.”
After dropping their past two Premier League games, Forest will be looking to bounce back against Ipswich on Saturday.
